I've been a ContourHD user, so the suggestions here are for that camera. I wasn't very satisfied with the standard Contour bike mounting options, so I designed some parts and had them produced via 3D printing at Shapeways. I haven't tried the Contour helmet mount. Mounting on the bars Here is a mount that fits round 31.8mm bars. Put zip ties through the channels to fasten the mount to your bars, slide the camera onto the rails, and throw an extra zip tie around it to make sure it can't slide off. Do not omit the extra zip tie. This mount may feel secure on its own, but vibration during rides can be surprisingly effective at shaking cameras loose. You do NOT want your camera falling off during a race. ![]() You can find and order this mount from shapeways here: I recommend the black strong and flexible material. Also note: when my parts arrived the zip tie channels still contained filler material, and it took some rinsing and poking around with a paper clip to clean them out. Some pictures of the mount in action: Mounting above the brake If you have cables obstructing the view from your bars, you may prefer to mount the camera above your front brake. Here is a mount that you can attach via an L-bracket through the front brake binder bolt. You'll need to drill a hole through the base of the mount and get some bolts and a suitable L-bracket from your local hardware store. As before, make sure you have zip ties or strong rubber bands to ensure that the camera can not shake out of the mount while racing. This mounting system is heavier than the bar mount and harder to reach while riding. It is also more susceptible to vibration. To keep video shakiness under control you may want to wedge some thick tape or other padding between the brake and the bolt protruding under the L-bracket. You may not be able to mount the camera in this location if the brake calipers don't leave room for it (e.g., the SRAM Force).
